About Us
The Family Advocacy Board (WA FAB) was founded by charter parents who met on the Impact | PSE playground in Tukwila and realized the need to come together as a network to help each other navigate the charter educational system. We wanted to build better family-teacher relationships to ensure all our children receive the excellent education that was promised. At the same time, we realized that the system that was set up needed to be improved.
A Collaborative Approach
We are steadily building a network of families and teachers who want to come together for the success of our students. We expect excellence from our schools and we believe that our communities are the true accountability backstop for Washington's charter education system.

Our Vision
The Family Advocacy Board (we go by WA FAB on the playground) is a family-led network of Washington State's public charter school community uniting to care for, support, and learn from each other as we care for our children and work for their success.
Our Values
We create a safe space at the table to learn, grow, and dream together. Our people, pets, plants, and our full selves are welcome here. Come as you are and know you will be seen. We are authentic and real in our words and actions. Our support and encouragement of each other is genuine. We find strength in and respect for each other's differences. We amplify each other's authentic voices and the voices of our communities. We show up with our communities and take action to advocate for them. We see the best in others, strive for solutions, and work with integrity. We are hospitable and supportive as we listen for heart and meaning. We are intentional with our time, energy, and knowledge.
